This is a sumptuous cake made of hand dyed bamboo yarn--almost as soft as silk (once it has been soaked). It is a pleasure to work with. Nothing beats the blah, cold, foggy day blues like some amazing blue yarn...
A purring fur ball in the lap doesn't hurt either...
What are you making with it? I really want some but can only afford one skein right now. Ideas?
ReplyDeleteI am making a similar scarf to the store sample which was made with one skein...simple pattern...
ReplyDeleteI'll post pics tomorrow so you can see how it's shaping up :-)
Soaking? Would love to hear more about making bamboo softer. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on the yarn itself, but in general soaking is supposed to help the fibers release and become softer.
ReplyDeleteI haven't blocked my scarves (I just finished a second) yet, but the blocked sample at the store is almost as soft as silk.
I'll let you know!
