No Way!!! After all the juggling they have made you do? That is rediculous!! I can't make it next Thursday, but I want to know what their excuse was. email/Rav-mail me if you don't want to put it here.
Awful. Did they give you some time to figure things out, or was it a Friday lay off so you don't come back after the weekend thing (which I think is LAME since employees must give 2 weeks+ notice)?
Christ - how fucking lame - by phone. Inexcuseable. So sorry - you (and all the other victims) deserve much better. It sounds like how they were doing things during the bust. Totally unprofessional and crass.
Seriously. Except when I was laid off during the dot com days my employer had the grace to give me a heads up - so it wasn't a complete shock. Plus that way I had time to clear my desk. I come with alot of tschotchkes...

The excuse was "downsizing". That's it. Ugh.

No time to figure things out and ZERO warning. Also, they did the deed via phone since I was working from home today. Pretty lame.
The REALLY sucky thing is that I have personal stuff at BOTH offices so now I have to magically get it somehow.
Shoot -- I thought you'd be safe when I heard about it today. Do you want me to go into the office up here and clean out your desk for you?
